    Fionn's wife died he resolved to seek the hand of Grania in marriage. At this time Fionn was advanced in years being the father of Oisin and the grandfather of Oscar, while Grannia was a young girl.
    When Fionn arrived at Tara on his mission he was received in the Banqueting hall with great honour. As the feast went on Grania put many questions to the chief druid who sat beside her. She asked him what had brought Fionn to Tara and he was surprised that she did not know. She replied that it would be more fitting he should desire her as a wife for his (wife) grandson than for himself who was older than her father. She
