    In Island near the ruins of Island Castle which was once used as a Martello Tower. There is a remarkable table-like rock on the strand.
    Legend has it that one of the Munster Kings was passing by in a boat and when he saw this rock he was so delighted that he decided to have his dinner on it. From that time on it was called Bórd an Ríog.
    In the cliff nearby there is a vein of fire clay which is a yellow colour and in olden times school boys used to make marbles out of it
