    In this parish there are four forges, Powers in Stradbally, Halpins in Durrow, Hallihans in Sauleen and Powers in Seafield. Their people have been smiths for may years.
    Mr. Halpin and Powers forges are near cross-roads, the one in Sauleen is near a stream and the one in Stradbally is on the side of a short road north of the village. The smith used to make lots of implem-
