    Most of the land in Ballyvooney is good. There is no wood there now but there is a long stretch of glen. There is a river running through the glen which once worked a mill.
    There was an old church on the banks of this river, and the ruins of it can still be seen; there is an old path along the top of the valley and then it turns down just to where the church was, and at the other side of the valley is a holy well called "Tobar Cill Aodh"
