  1. Domhnaill Ó Fearacair Dúngarbhán was the best jumper in Co. Waterford. He jumped 6 feet 3 inches and 25 feet in the long jump.
    James McGrath (The Reactaire) Clonegegale was the best mower in Co. Waterford.
    Seán Rua Datún used to mow down an acre and a half in a day, but this was from sunrise till sunset. The wages were small and only a good mower got sixpence a day.
    There were many good step-dancers in this district about fifty years ago. Micheál Breathnach Skeheens and his brother Martin won valuable prizes. William Coitir and Tomás Ó Glaisín, Knockboy also won valuable prizes.
    There was a man in this district whose name was John Corbett. He lived in a forge and when he wanted to light his pipe he had only to catch the anvil and throw a spark
