  1. This is how a crock of gold was hidden under the ground.
    This how it happened to a man that lived in Camphire.
    One night the man that was supposed to have hidden the money came to the window of another man at the dead hour of the night.
    He told him the place where the gold was hidden (not far from the old ruined church).
    The ghost came to the place three nights in succession.
    After the third night the man told two friends of his own about it. These planned to go in search of the gold on a certain night about 12 o'clock. Well they stayed up one night and when the time came to go to the ruined Abbey - they all got nervous and did not go.
    The ghost is still guarding the gold
