  2. The cures of long ago were a lot different to the cures of today. People used to do the queerest things to cure diseases. They used to put a frog into their mouth to cure a toothache and lick a lizard with their tongue and there would be a cure for a burn on the tongue which has licked the lizard. They also tied a child to the belly of a black donkey to cure a whooping cough.
