  1. Witches are people who were supposed to have power from the devil. They practised witch-craft such as taking butter and eggs and potatoes from one another. There was a woman in Tipperary living with her father and mother and husband. Her name was Bridget Cleary. Her people got the idea she was a witch and could do supernatural things so in others to get her information from here they put on an iron gate over a fire and burned her. They were arrested and tried for berating her in this manner and they got 20 years in jail.
