  1. In days gone by the Ballyglane road near Lismore was haunted by a woman called Petticoat Loose. There is a rock Somewh on the side of this road where she used sit and the print of her fingers can be seen there at the present day. There was a dead weight in one of hands and any body she would strike with it died immediately. One night a man was coming from the fair of Cappoquin and he met her. He asked her to dance a reel with him and he started to play a tune and as they kept changing sides he kept his eye on her until at last he saw his chanch to cross a river which flowed on one side of the road and
