  1. There was a giant around here long ago. He lived out in the mountain at Walshe's Cross. it is said that he fired a big stone from the cross to Mount Melleray. There was another giant up in the North of Ireland who lived on top of a hill. He used to kill all the cattle on the people. One day a small boy went to where he lived. The boy dug a big hole outside the door. Then he struck the door with a pick axe and ran behind. When the giant ran out he fell into the hole and got killed. The boy was called 'Jack the Giant Killer' from that day out.
