  1. When the potato stalks are about a foot high they are sprayed with a mixture of blue-stone and soda mixed with water to protect them from blight. This should be done twice with about 14 days between each spraying. About the month of October all potatoes are dug out. Some people put them into a pit and others put them in to an out-house. Pits are made by making a heap of potatoes about 2 feet high and any length and covering them with straw and clay. They are taken out of it when wanted during the Winter for as
