  1. Fairs used to be held around here long ago. There was one held in Cross and one in Clashmore. The one in Clashmore used to be held on the tenth of February. There was a man out in the mountain and he used to be at every fair. He had three sticks. The names are "Bás gan Sagart", "Tuirim gan Tόgadh" agus "Leagadh gan Eirige". He used to take off his coat and drag it around the fair and if any one would stand on it then a fight would start. It is often a person was killed in the fight.
