    Many years ago there was a tree growing in Curriglass.

    Many years ago there was a tree growing in Curriglass Tallow, which was used for hanging people. It remained there for several years and the people were afraid to go near it. But one day one man bolder than the rest got a saw and commenced to cut it down. He got the fright of his life when he saw what looked like human blood flowing from it.
