The following anecdotes regarding hares come from Glendine district.

The following anecdotes regarding hares come from Glendine district.
A woman used make a hare of herself every Sunday. When the men would go coursing the greyhounds could not kill her. It was held that nothing but a black dog could kill her.
In the Lios at Powers near Redforge Youghal there lived a hare. This hare was met and coursed very often. One Sunday dogs from far away parts of Cork and Waterford came but no pair of dogs could be found to beat the hare.
