  1. A True Story

A poor old woman lived in Convent St. about fifty years ago.

A poor old woman lived in Convent St. about fifty years ago. She used to make lace. Every day she travelled the country trying to sell it. Nobody bought the lace because in those days all made lace.
One dark November evening when passing the Convent Field she felt something hitting off her heels. She looked behind and saw, as she thought, a nun who threw apples at her.She picked up some but could not take all. She knew the nun's face. As soon as she arrived home she heard that the nun had died during the day.
