  1. About one hundred years ago,
a fair was held at Glengoura
which is about two and a half miles from Tallow.
In the evening when the fair was ver, all the different clans of tinkers met on what is known as the Square, and discussed the family affairs, during the past twelve months.
On one occasion a heated argument arose between these clans, and they fought with sticks, and stones, and everything they could lay hands on. Many were injured and a lot of blood was shed.
