  1. There were many nailers in West Street, Tallow, about sixty years ago. Mr. J Driscoll was the principal nailmaker. He made these nails up to the year 1877. These were made with a hammer, steel and sometimes wire. They were good nails and some of them are still to be seen. About the year 1800 these ceased to exist.
