    and sometimes they were made in schools by girls in the sewing classes.
    The crosses were made by cutting a cross out of a piece of cardboard. The cross was then covered with ribbons.
    Holy Water was used for blessing the crops.
    On Palm Sunday the blessed palm is brought into every house and put behind the pictures.
    On St. Brigid's Night a piece of ribbon was hung on the window for St. Brigid to bless.

  2. Certain articles are placed in position in the houses in honour of saints such as the cross made of rushes and timber on the Eve of St. Brigid's Day. The timber is made with one stick about six inches and another four inches across the centre
