The above is a photograph of an old spear-head.

The above is a photograph of an old spear-head. it was found in a field in Boharavoghera between the railway crossing and the main Waterford-Cork road by Patrick McGrath (since dead). The place where it was found was the scene of the Battle of Affane (1865). This battle took place between the Ormonds and the Desmonds and it is believed that the above weapon was used in the battle. The spear-head is now in the possession of Mr. William Doyle, Cappoquin.
