  1. There was a dog going around Cappoquin by the name of Maidrín Droichid. And the people thought it was a soldier that was drowned up in the Kitchen Hole. A man came down from Mass Lane to the old wooden bridge looking for lubhoga. There was a dog followed him. There was a lighter at the quay. The man turned round and saw the dog. He thought it was his own dog and he stooped for a stone to hunt home the dog. When he looked around the dog was nearly as big as a calf. There used to be a lot of lads playing cards in the lighter. He backed down to the lads that were playing cards in the lighter
