    1. To cure the whooping cough catch a spider. Wrap it in muslin and hang it from the mantlepiece. When the spider dies the cough will be cured
    2. Wool taken from a black sheep and worn constantly in the ear will prevent earache
    3. To cure a wart rub your fasting spit to it each morning for nine mornings
    [These cures were given to my brother, Joseph by Mrs Scanlon.
