  1. One night a carter was going home from work and he met Petticoat Loose. She asked him for a drive and he gave her a saucy answer. When he got home he ate his supper and bolted the door and was just about to go into bed when he heard a rap at the window. He went to the window and opened it. Petticoat Loose was outside and she asked the man to shake hands. The man put out his hand and she whipped the arm off him.The poor man never saw his hand again.
