    When streams and waterfalls can be plainly heard at night, bad weather will follow.
    Dust seen whirling on the road is a forecast of a 'Fairy Wind' or as it is more commonly called, a 'Sidhe-Gaoithe'.
    Smoke seen whirling low around the chimney top denotes rainy weather while smoke going up straight denotes fine weather.

  2. If the sky around the moon is quite clear and a ring of light can plainly be seen, it is a sign of bad weather.
    If the sun shines bright after a shower of rain, it is a sure sign that rain will follow.
    A rainbow at morning is the shepherd's warning.
    A rainbow at night is the sailor's delight.
    The north wind brings snow, the south wind brings soft weather and the east wind brings gloomy weather and the west brings rain.
    The south wind brings most rain to my district. If the smoke goes straight up the chimney it is a sure sign of fine weather. If the smoke goes downward it is a sign of rain.
