  1. There were no doctors or nurses long ago. When a person would have a toothache, he would look for a frog, put him into his mouth and leave him there until he would scream three times. Then the toothache would get better. Some people would rub soot or pepper or bread-soda to the tooth to cure it.
    If a person had a sore mouth a boy born after the death of his father could cure it by blowing his breath into the person’s mouth for three mornings.
    When a person would see a frog or a lizard he would catch him and lick him with his
