    It's years since I left you, it's twenty or more, Since I first took my departure from ancient Lismore.

    It's years since I left you, it's twenty or more.
    Since I first took my departure from ancient Lismore
    And to come back again, from the banks of the Cloyne.
    And to see you again and perhaps the last time.

    There are castles and towns but there is none to excel.
    The green road and the spout and St. Cartage's well;
    There's the mall by Church Lane where I used to play ball,
    When I first went to school to old Henry Wall.
    III
    The is Botony too, Chapel lane, Gailes HIll New St Park's road I remember them still.
    There's the Main St beside them its the last one I name,
    For 'twas there I was born in old Ferry Lane.
