  1. The saints honoured in this parish are St Carthage and St Michael.
    Lismore and Ballyduff were one parish until the year 1866 since then they have been separate parishes.
    Rev. D. Power was the first parish priest from 1866 to 1870.
    The Church here is under the patronage of St Michael and is called St Michael's Church.
    There is a well in the district called St Michael's well and on the 29th September his feast is kept, the people used to visit the well but the custom has died out.
    The name Michael is a very common name in this district, and any male child born in the month of September is almost always called Michael. In olden times children were baptised there at the well of St
