  1. Long ago some of the people in my district did not wear shoes except when they were going to Mass. They would carry the shoes in their hands untill they were near the church. The people that did this were stronger and healthier than the people are now. The children leave off their shoes in summer time.
    Mr Martin Screeny of Carn makes shoes and he also repairs them. There were more cobblers in my district long ago than there are now. Some of the men and children wear clogs.
