  1. Written in 12th July 1938.
    Poll na Sámaideacra:
    There were men called Lynns having saw mills there. They used to dig up the bogdeal there and cut it with a frame saw. There was a long trench in the bog where they had dug the saw-mill. They used to bring the bogdeal to Crossmolina and sell it there. Poll na Sámaideacra is in the bog between Michael Lynns of Shanrolahan and our house. It is very green now.
