  1. Snaidhm na bPéist.
    Obtain a length of twine. A short bit, (about 12" or 14") is preferable as, even if you make "Snaidhm na bPéist" correctly with a long bit, certain difficulties are experienced. Let us say the following illustictes a bit of twine-:
    L-------------R.
    We call the end at first held in left hand L and similarly the end held in right hand R. If instructions are not carefully read, "Snaidhm na bPéist" will not be the result of your efforts. However to continue is. Make oretinary crossing of the ends and then you will hold L in right hand and R in left hand. Continue and make the loop and you will still have L in right hand and R in left hand. Also you will notice and this is important, that you made the loop from right to left (or maybe you did it from left to right) I cannot explain any clearer on paper than to say that the loop was made in one of two ways, which ways I hope, I have successfully endeavoured to describe above.
