    As I went over the bridge I met the Blessed Virgin Mary, seven brass Mass books in her hand,
    seven priests singing,
    seven bells ringing.
    Shut the gates of hell. Open the gates of heaven, and let my pour soul in.

    As I lay down my head to sleep,
    I give my soul to God to keep,
    Lord by the branch, Lady by the flower,
    Jesus, Mary and Joseph be at my dying hour,
