  1. There is a fort in my district. It is on Thomas Loftuse's land in the townlan of Freheen, Crossmolina. It is circular in shape. There is a fence of earth round it. There are bushes growing on the south side of it. There is a sandpit on the east side.
    One Summer evening about thirty years ago there were two men coming from a fair in Ballina with cattle. When they came near the fort they let the cattle eat grass on the side of the road and themselves sat down on the ditch to rest.
