  1. Rathbane is the name of my district. There is a fort on the land and it is known as Rathbane on the white fort, and in this way it got its name.
    Rúidhteach is the name of a field which means a whinny marshy place. Cloch óg is the name of another field which means the white stony field. Lúibín is the name of another field which means the twisted field.
    Comhrac is the name of a district about seven miles from the district. It is said that there was a duel fought in it and from that it got its name and there is a song composed about it in Irish.
