    Marriages usually take place locally during shrove. May is said to be an unlucky month for marriage . There is a rhyme as regards the days that are lucky and unlucky.for marriage .
    Monday for health.
    Tuesday for wealth .
    Wednesday the best day of all .
    Thursday for crosses.
    Friday for losses and
    Saturday no luck at all.
    " Lá na Leanbh " or " Innocents Day " is said to be unlucky for marriage and that day in every week throughout the year is said to be unlucky for marriage . It is unlucky to meet a woman first after the marriage .A man is lucky and a white horse is said to be very lucky .It is said to be unlucky if there are thirteen at the wedding breakfast .
