    2nd November 1937
    A number of years ago there was a bridge being built on the Owenboy river about a quarter of a mile east of Eskeragh school house , Crossmolina, Co. Mayo. At that time there were not many bridges on the Ballina-Belmullet trunk road.
    There were two men who took the contract of making this bridge .Their names were Pat Browne of Mullinmore Street , Crossmolina, Co. Mayo and Charles Anderson of Massbrook , Lahardane , County Mayo.
    A man named Pat Caden owned some land in Carrowkillen , Crossmolina , where there is a shrubbery , and in which there appears to be an ancient burial ground .There are beautiful headstones and tombstones to be seen there at present .
    The contractors of this bridge went to him and asked him to sell them, but he refused , It was not the value he's set on the stones but on
