    Crosses are made on Candlemas night in honour of Saint Bridget. First rushes are pulled and left out until night comes and when night comes a person goes out for the rushes and Saint Bridget. When they come to the door they kneel down and say "Go dhia an a ghluine agus fhosgailghidh na suile agus leig isteach míse agus Brighid" and the people inside say "Sé do beatha". Then they come in and get two pieces of sticks and nail them together in the shape of a cross. Then they work the rushes in and out between the sticks until the cross is made.
