  1. I live in the townland of Mongaune [?] in the parish of Crossmolina and in the barony of Tirawley. There are four families in my townland. "Gallagher" is the most common surname. The land is fertile but moory. The river Deel flows through it. Mongaune [?] got it's name from long coarse grass which grows in it.
    There are about twenty-five people in our townland. These were more people in it formerly. The ruins of their houses are still to be seen. There are two
