    Once upon a time there lived in a village a man and his wife.

    Once upon a time there lived in a village a man and his wife.
    One day the man went to town and brought home three pigs' legs. When he came home he told his wife to cook them for him, and he told her that when she would have them cooked to call him, and she said she would. When she had three cooked, she ate one herself and left the other two on a plate for her husband. She called him in. When he came in he only saw two on the plate, and he asked his wife where was the other one. She told him to eat them and he said he would not until he would get the other one. His wife gave him a thump, and told him to eat them, that he would not get the other one. He again said that
