  1. When the famine raged in Ireland, there lived a man in the village of Carrowskeheen with his wife and family named John Callaghan.
    His wife's name was Mary, and he had three children named Anne, Mary and John.
    Well John and his wife were lucky enough to have a sack of Indian meal for food for themselves, and before they used to go to bed they used always leave it near the fire Well some of the neighbours had not even a sack of meal to keep themselves alive for a time.
    Once a man named Sean Foster was in visiting in John Callaghans house, and he saw the sack of meal. When Sean returned home that night his children were almost dead with the pangs of hunger, and Sean was forced that night to steal some of the meal when he got the Callaghan family gone to bed.
    Sean Foster tried this plan to keep his children alive a few times, but
