  1. I'm sitting and watching the coal fire burning.
    But my heart, and my thoughts are far from here.
    For on fancy pinions they are turning.
    To where Old Nephin peaks appear
    Old hills in your bleak majestic splendour.
    Oh! you are far more dear to me
    And your memory waken thoughts more tender.
    Than all the beauties that here I see.
    The city sights may be grand and glowing.
    But oh! my bosom with sadness fills.
    For I'm ever longing for those breezes flowing.
    Across the foot of old Nephin hills.
    One bunch of heather, and that with devotion.
    I carried away as a souvenir.
