  1. The old school was situated on the side of the road opposite to Anderson. It was thirty feet long and twelve feet wide. The walls were twelve feet high with a thatched roof and a cement floor. There was one door and two windows in it. There was no yard around the school. That time the was no state paid teachers. The scholars had to pay for their education. The scholars that were in first class had to pay a shilling for every quarter. Second class had to pay two shillings for a quarter and every class higher had pay a shilling more.
