    There was a Landlord once who ruled over the tenants of Massbrook. His name was Captain Johnston. He evicted a few families out of their homes in “Gort na Glaggan" between Massbrook and Pontoon. There names were John Fallon, Pat Quinn, Tom McDonall. Pat Quinn came to live in Terryduff. Tom McDonall went over to Foxford and John Fallon went to Castlebar. The ruin of their homes are to be seen yet.
