  1. Saint Bridgets night falls on the second day of February. All the girls of the place go from house to house collecting money in honour of St Bridget. They put on trousers. Then they get a turnip and they make two eyes and nose in it with soot. They dress it up like a doll. Then they bring it around with them.
They do be dancing and singing and playing in every house. The people make small crosses with two sticks and they put them up in the roof. They believe it will keep all sickness away.
