    Long ago there lived a well-to-do farmer.

    I GOT THE FOLLOWING STORY FROM:-
    MR MICHAEL HARTE, DERRYFADDA.
    Long ago there lived a well-to-do farmer. He had a large stock of milk cows. Every morning he milked a large quantity of milk from his cows.
    One morning he found out his cows had no milk. He was greatly surprised at this. For a week he kept milking his cows but it was no use; for they had very little milk.
    The farmer resolved to find out what the matter was with the cows. One morning he arose at day-break and he, with his dog and three men with their dogs, went to the field where the cattle were grazing.
    On arrival in the field they delayed for some time. At length they saw
