  1. Once upon a time there lived a poor widow who one child. One day the woman went to the bog for turf and she left the child asleep in the cradle. Whilst she was away her neighbor heard someone playing a fiddle and discovered that it was the widow’s child. When the widow came back her neighbor told her what she had heard.
    The widow did not believe it because the child was only six months. The next day the widow went again to the bog, but when she was coming she did not go straight to the house. She stayed outside
