  1. Once upon a time there was a man who was very fond of beigg out late at night. He used to go a long way from his own home playing cards. One night he and another were coming home. When the other man went home a barrel started rolling along the ditch. The cap fell off the man's head and he was afraid to take it up.
    The hair was standing up in his head. The barrel kept on rolling and rolling until it came near the man's house. Then a turkey-cock jumped on the barrel. The man had a dog and he was very fond of him.
