    schools to be taught. There was not any Irish atall taught in the old schools The children used to bring two sods of turf every morning.
    There was an old school in Thomas Murray's barn in which Jim Murphy was teaching. and the people of the village came to that school. There was a school in Neary's barn and Pat Durcan taught in it.
    In Attymass there was also a school in which Dan Murphy was teaching. This was one of the best schools and there was a lot on roll.
