    this the Norman came across the Moy one night and in the morning there were thousands of Normans on the Cloonislane side of the river. These two families went all over the country gathering men. When they had all the village searched they went as far as Foxford and then they had a thousand men gathered. They had no guns except swords an sticks and spears. Some of them who had none of those brought sticks and stones. The battle began and the Norman began to retreat.
