  1. Once upon a time there lived a very rich man and the country was in great trouble with war. This man knew that if the house was raided and the money found he would be without it. One day he made up his mind to hide his money.
    He put it into a big crock and buried it under a hawthorn bush. He then implored of the Good People to protect it until he would come for it himself. But he never did, for he died.
