    8th November 1937
    The farms are small and the people are poor. There are a lot of old people in the village who are able to tell good stories in English but they cannot speak a word in Irish. The houses are all thatched except one but they are quite comfortable. There is a road which runs right through the middle of the village which leads to the bog. There is a main drain which runs at the back of the village which brings all the water out of the river Moy. The people have to work very hard to
