    The Hens
    If the hens run for shelter it is the sign of a shower but if they remain out it is the that it will not clear and that the rain will continue for some time

    If the hedgehog, when it leaves the burrow (about February 2nd) after its winter sleep sees its own shadow it returns again to the burrow for a further period of about six weeks
    When the raindrops remain on the clothes line it is a sign that the rain will not continue much longer.
